The Space Launch System (SLS) is a NASA's super heavy-lift expendable launch vehicle. It is replacing the Space Shuttle program and is part of NASA's deep space exploration plans including a crewed mission to Mars. Artemis I (formerly Exploration Mission 1) is scheduled in 2022.
